Secret Ceramics, Creatures at 8 Holland Street, and The Art of Slowness at Plain English with Wondering People
Hello Everyone
I hope you’re having a good start to the week, and getting to enjoy some of the sunshine.
I am so pleased to be part of three shows for London Craft Week, which all opened today!:
CREATURES at 8 Holland Street
THE ART OF SLOWNESS at Plain English, curated by Wondering People
SECRET CERAMICS at Christies
CREATURES
8 Holland Street presents ‘CREATURES’ at our flagship gallery in St James’s Park, showcasing 50 exclusive artworks for London Craft Week 2025. Celebrating contemporary artists and makers, ’Creatures’ derives from the Middle English ‘something created’. Each piece highlights the fusion of craftsmanship and originality which explores creation through diverse materials and forms.

THE ART OF SLOWNESS
Plain English and Wondering People come together to celebrate craftsmanship materiality, and the quiet poetry of handmade artworks. Featuring work by UK-based artists and makers, this collection of artworks explores themes of slowness, process and a connection to the natural world.
The Plain English flagship showroom at 61 Pimlico Road, renowned for its hand-crafted kitchens made from solid timber, provides the perfect setting for this exhibition. Wander through the showroom and explore this exhibition throughout our series of kitchen and ancillary spaces, a dialogue of art, craft and function enriching everyday life. The exhibition invites us to pause and appreciate the stories embedded in each piece, and to rediscover the quiet power of handmade beauty within the home.

SECRET CERAMICS
London Craft Week presents the second edition of its charitable initiative, Secret Ceramics, in partnership with FiredUp4, co-founded by Kate Malone MBE.
For the first time, the exhibition takes place at Christie’s, featuring 100 ceramic works by leading and emerging artists. As the names suggest, the artist’s identity will only be revealed after purchase and visitors have the chance to acquire works, at a fixed price, from the likes of Claudia Rankin, Hitomi Hosono, Bouke de Vries, Freya Bramble Carter, Kate Malone, Gregory Tingay and Sophie Wilson.
Last year, LCW proudly achieved its goal and proceeds funded a FiredUp4 ceramic studio at WEST Youth Zone, White City. This year, funds will cover the annual running costs of all four FiredUp4 studios in London — WEST, Barnet, Barking & Dagenham and Croydon — giving young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access to the transformative power of clay.
